The Ark and shells/creatures

sorry if it's been covered before..... i'm struggling with the flood.

media has reported over the years finding bits of this and that (the ark) on top of a mountain.

seashells are often found high on hills or mountains.

The genetic bottlenecking that would have occurred as a result of taking animals in 2 by 2 (or even 7 by 7) would have caused most of the animals to have died out from genetic diseases by now, including the humans, of whom there were only 8!

Question About Tithing

some of you may have read my post about my lasped jw boyfriend, and his pressure on me to consider to convert eventually (i'm not going too!

) but i still would like to better understand the church and watch tower society better so i can understand this mindset he has.

he makes much to do about the lack of an offering plate, and "the 2 boxes, one for the church, the other for the needy, nobody is put on the spot to donate".

None of those things mean that J-dubs have the truth though. Whichever way you look at it, it's still a racket. The members are all victims, most do donate & are therefore being conned out of their money, & even if there are some who don't donate, they are still being conned out of their free time & being made to feel guilty all the time for not being good enough.

And then there are the dangerous & life threatening aspects, such as the way they deal with paedophiles & the ban on blood transfusions. Not to mention the shunning of those who leave or are kicked out, which has in the often resulted in suicides.

what to can you do to prevent kids from being indoctrinated and possibly become jw one day?.

what i do (son is 7, twins were born this year):.

talk openly with my son about cults and how they trick people.talk openly about jw history: false prophecies, pyramids, ruthrford.....signed my son for soccer team.help him to find "worldly" friends.although i hate to listen jws bs, when my wife goes to the meeting i go with them to make sure no elders are "encouraging" them.although i am an agnostic today, i read the bible and pray with the family, becouse otherwise my wife would take over ... (since daddy is "spiritually weak"...)i work hard to not be df to not lose control over my son spiritual education.... what else you do/suggest?.

I think this is highly dangerous in many ways. You are opening them up to the false WT gospel. Even though you have rejected the lies of the WT, this stuff is gangrene as Paul puts it, and spreads in similar fashion to those who are around it 2 Timothy 2:17

Learning the "Truth" Is not true is like...................

after 33 years of being mind controlled at 5 meetings a week, field service meetings, special day assembly, curcuit assembly,district assembly, finding out "the truth" is just a big hoax is like getting punched in the stomach-uppercut in the jaw-being kicked in the balls from behind and then having the rug ripped out from under you and smashing your head on the ground.

what was it like for everyone else?.

I was only 18 when i finally broke free... must be an early developer (for a j-dub) in the intelligence department

It was quite a relief really, realising that i don't have to start over after armaggedon & watch lots of people die, or face dying there myself.

The reality that i will one day die though doesn't phase me much, but i am only 22 so...

it feeds their ego.

over the years, you must've been counseled on different things.. when i was almost of age to become a ms, an elder counseled me for my "lack of seriousness".

A Self Pleasing & Amusing Story

i've not been to a meeting in quite some time, but occassionally i talk to this witness couple in the area and ask if i have missed anything good lately.

on a recent visit with them i was told this story.. for some months now a semi retarded fellow has been attending the meetings at the hell, and as many of us know, a couple of weeks ago at the constipated bible study the subject was masturbation.

this new meeting attender, who often incorporates space travel, ufo's, and star trek into his comments was present, but was exceptionally wired.
